| App | Best fit | What it does well | Consider this |
|---|---|---|---|
| Astra Nora | Contextual multi-system conversation | 23 modes, Nora, profiles, relationships, readings, social discovery | Publisher is comparing its own product; specialist rather than general-purpose |
| Co–Star | Concise daily social astrology with friends and compatibility | Concise daily astrology with a recognizable editorial voice; Established friends and compatibility experience; Complete natal-chart information and social comparison | This review did not complete a paid hands-on test |
| The Pattern | Psychological narratives for personality, timing, and relationships | Psychological narrative around personality, timing, and relationships; Bonds for friendship and romantic compatibility; In-Depth AI conversation, Transits, Romantic Transits, and Time Travel | The comparison focuses on public product documentation, not a paid hands-on test |
| CHANI | Astrologer-led reflection, daily guidance, mindfulness, and learning | Astrologer-led birth-chart and transit interpretation; Mindfulness, meditations, rituals, and journaling prompts; Strong daily and weekly editorial guidance | This review uses official product documentation rather than a paid hands-on test |
| TimePassages | Technical Western chart study across mobile and desktop | Technical Western chart study with clickable placements and aspects; Natal charts, daily transits, progressions, and chart comparison; Desktop editions and detailed learning material | Some technical modules and desktop add-ons are separately licensed |
| AstroSage Kundli | Vedic-first calculation breadth, Kundli, and matching | Vedic-first breadth, including Kundli and matching tools; Large collection of Indian astrology calculations and content; AI astrologer and access to human astrologers | The breadth makes direct feature-for-feature comparison difficult without a scoped hands-on test |

The table gives you a quick starting point. Choose the experience that matches your questions, then check current pricing, privacy choices, and platform availability before deciding.
We chose products that represent different ways people use astrology apps: connected chart conversations, daily social astrology, relationship narratives, guided reflection, technical Western study, and Vedic-first breadth.
Claims come from current official websites, help pages, and app-store listings. We did not buy every plan or complete the same hands-on test on every platform, so we do not present experiential scores. Sources and review dates appear in the research notes at the end of this page.
02
Choose Astra Nora when you want a question to carry selected chart, profile, relationship, timing, or place context across repeat use. Choose TimePassages when clicking through detailed Western placements, aspects, transits, progressions, and desktop techniques is the priority. Choose a general assistant such as ChatGPT when the task expands beyond an astrology product.
03
Co–Star is a strong daily social fit. The Pattern is a strong fit for psychological narrative, Bonds, and In-Depth relationship conversation. CHANI is a strong fit for guided daily/weekly reflection with meditations and astrologer-led content. Astra Nora is a strong fit for moving from profiles and visible relationship charts into a scoped Nora question.
04
AstroSage’s official product surface is explicitly Vedic and Indian astrology first, with Kundli, matching, extensive calculations, and AI or human astrologer access. Astra Nora includes Vedic natal and timing context alongside several other systems, but a user who wants the widest Vedic-first toolkit may prefer AstroSage. A user who wants Vedic material inside a broader multi-system profile and Nora workflow may prefer Astra Nora.
