This Privacy Policy describes how Astra Nora LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use the Astra Nora mobile application or visit our website and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the confidentiality and security of your personal information.

Information We Collect

When you use our Services, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including:

  • Device type
  • Operating system
  • IP address
  • Time zone
  • Cookies or similar technologies
  • App usage and interaction data
  • Referring websites or search terms

We also collect your device’s unique device identifier (device ID) for security and fraud-prevention purposes. This data is encrypted and securely stored in our database.

When you create or use an Astra Nora account, we may also collect information you provide or generate through the Services, including:

  • Account and profile details, such as name, email address, profile photo, biography, and profile visibility settings
  • Birth date, birth time (or an indication that it is unknown), birth location, and geographic coordinates used for chart calculation
  • Derived astrology, Human Design, compatibility, timing, and related chart data
  • Birth and profile data for private profiles or people you add, which may concern another person
  • Questions, prompts, conversation history, saved readings, feedback, and generated responses
  • Friendship, block, report, matching, and other social-feature records

Please provide another person’s information only when you have an appropriate basis to do so, and use profile visibility controls carefully.

Permissions and App Features

Depending on the specific app and features you use, we may request access to the following:

Contacts

If you grant contact access, we collect and store only names and phone numbers from your contact list. This information is used solely for app functionality and is deleted upon account deletion.

Microphone

Microphone access is used for transcription and supported live voice features. Raw audio is sent to the voice or transcription service needed to provide the feature and is processed transiently by Astra Nora; we do not intentionally persist raw audio in our application database. A text transcript of what you said and Nora’s text response may be saved as part of your conversation history. Provider-side handling is governed by the applicable provider terms, settings, and retention controls.

You may revoke permissions at any time through your device settings.

Nora AI and Generated Content

When you use Nora, we send the prompt and the context needed to generate a response to an AI service provider. Depending on the feature and system configuration, these providers may include OpenAI and Google Gemini. Context may include selected chart results, profile details, relationship data, timing information, recent conversation messages, or other information you choose to include.

AI-generated responses can be incomplete or incorrect and should not be treated as medical, legal, financial, emergency, or other professional advice. The way an AI provider uses or retains submitted data depends on our service configuration and that provider’s business-service terms. We review those settings as part of our technical privacy process, but you should avoid submitting information that is not needed for your question.

Google Account Data

If you choose to sign in using Google, we collect your name and email address for account creation and authentication. We do not access Google contacts or any other Google account data beyond your basic public profile information.

Facebook Account Data

If you choose to sign in using Facebook, we receive information that you authorize Facebook to provide through Facebook Login. This may include your app-scoped Facebook user ID, name, first and last name, email address, profile picture, locale, and account verification information. We use this information only to authenticate you, create or link your Astra Nora account, prevent duplicate or fraudulent accounts, and personalize your account profile.

We request only the public_profile and email permissions. We do not use Facebook Login to access your Facebook friends, posts, Pages, groups, messages, or contacts. Facebook access tokens are used to validate the sign-in request and retrieve the authorized profile fields; we do not intentionally retain those access tokens after authentication is completed.

Meta App Events and Advertising Measurement

On supported mobile devices, Astra Nora uses the Meta Software Development Kit (SDK), including Meta App Events, to measure app activation, registration, selected engagement milestones, subscription or purchase events, and advertising attribution. Depending on your device, settings, consent choices, and applicable law, Meta may receive app-event information and technical information such as device or advertising identifiers, IP address, operating system, app version, and interaction or attribution data.

We use this information to understand app performance, measure advertising campaigns, prevent fraud, and improve our Services. Meta processes information it receives in accordance with its own Privacy Policy. You can manage advertising and tracking choices through your device settings and Meta account settings where available.

Order Information

When you make or attempt to make a purchase through our Services, we collect certain information including:

  • Name
  • Billing address
  • Shipping address (if applicable)
  • Email address
  • Phone number

Payment information is handled directly by our payment processors and is not stored by us.

In-App Purchases and Payments

Purchases made through our mobile applications are processed by the platform through which the app is distributed, including the Google Play Store for Android devices and the Apple App Store for iOS devices. We do not collect or store your payment card information for in-app purchases. All payment information is handled directly by Google or Apple in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

Purchases made through our website are processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe and Squarespace. We do not store your payment card details for website transactions. These providers process payment information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable security standards.

Refunds and Billing

Refunds for in-app purchases are subject to the policies of the platform provider through which the purchase was made (Google Play Store or Apple App Store). We do not have the ability to issue refunds for in-app purchases processed by these platforms.

For purchases made through our website, refund requests are handled in accordance with our website’s terms and the policies of our payment providers. Please contact us if you have questions regarding billing or refunds.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate our Services
  • Process payments and fulfill orders
  • Communicate with you
  • Provide invoices and receipts

These third parties use your information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are subject to their own privacy policies.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Contact information and order records are retained for record-keeping purposes unless you request deletion.

Account, birth, profile, chart, saved reading, friendship, and conversation data may be retained while your account is active so the Services can provide continuity. The product supports deletion controls for messages or conversations where available, and you may request account deletion. Deleted data may remain for a limited period in backups or where retention is necessary for security, billing, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

Raw voice audio is not intentionally persisted in our application database. Text transcripts and generated replies may follow the same retention path as other conversation messages.

Facebook Login profile information is retained while your Astra Nora account remains active and is deleted or de-identified in accordance with our account-deletion process, except where limited retention is required or permitted by law. Instructions for requesting deletion are available on our Delete User Data page.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Correct or update your information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Withdraw consent where applicable

You may also use in-product profile visibility, block, report, message deletion, conversation deletion, and account deletion controls where available. Some controls affect what other users can see; they do not necessarily erase records that we must retain for the reasons described above.

Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside of your jurisdiction, including Canada and the United States, to operate our Services and fulfill contractual or legitimate business purposes.

Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
